"I have a very pretty ca 1850 regency style 3 pedestal dominican mahogany dining table that I love. It has a great patina, shows signs of gentle wear over the years, all traits I wanted to preserve. However my taste changed and the dark reddish mahogany no longer fit my decor. I wanted a sun bleached mahogany instead, but wanted to keep the table. I hesitated to refinish it because I didn't want it to loose its character and look like a new table. I know from experienced New Orleans decorators, antiques dealers that John and Johnny of Renaissance are "the best" in the industry...not cheap...but fair when you see the work they put into it (you get what you pay for). I entrusted my table to them and they did not disappoint, instead delighted! The multi step labor intense process requiring a generation of experience, yielded a table that is exactly the lighter color I wanted without losing a bit of its character.
